Concessions Worker Lead
Assist Concessions Manager in training concessions workers. Report all
inventory product and supply info to Manager. Provide work direction for
concessions workers. Coordinate training, scheduling and evaluations.
Handle cash, reconcile cash register tapes and prepare daily recaps. Disburse
cash funds. Maintain unit inventory levels. Maintain sanitary environment.
Handle emergency situations according to procedures. Must have previous
customer service experience, preferably in a restaurant or fast foot environment.
Must have cashier experience. Must have valid CA driver's license (driving
may be required). Work schedule: Various shifts available during Mon-Fri
7am-10pm, and Sat-Sun 7am-6pm, plus evening/holiday hours as needed for
RIMAC Arena and facility events.
Concessions Worker
Prepare food and beverage products to sell. Sell products to customers.

preferably in a restaurant or fast food environment. Must have cashier

(with some very late nights) as needed for Arena and facility events.
Concessions Special Events Worker
Prepare and sell food and beverage products at Intercollegiate games,
concerts, or other special events; operate cash register; operate food
and beverage production equipment; perform concession set-up/tear-down
at event locations; clean and maintain concessions facilities and equipment;
empty trash. Previous customer service experience preferred, especially
in a restaurant or fast food environment. Previous barbeque preparation
experience highly preferred. Previous cashier experience preferred. Must
be able to move at least 50 lbs. Must have valid CA driver's license.
Work scedule: Up to 19 hrs/wk. Flexible shifts. On-call work schedule,
minimum of 4-hr shifts. Must be willing to work weekends, evenings, quarter
breaks, holidays, as needed for Arena and facility events.
Concessions Student Manager
Oversee and coordinate the work of the student concessions staff. Assist
in training and evaluating all concessions student staff. Prepare event
and work schedules. Oversee concession booth operations during special
events. Reconcile daily cash register tapes, and prepare daily recaps.
Assist Concessions Manager in marketing products. Perform customer service
audits. Prepare and sell food and beverage products. Must have demonstrated
customer service and cashier experience, preferably in a restaurant or
fast food environment, with at least one year in a lead or supervisory
role. Must have ability to create, conduct and assess staff training programs.
Must have excellent interpersonal and clear/effective communication skills.
Work schedule: 10-12 hours/week with a minimum of 2 hour blocks of time.
Technical Crew
Under supervision, learn to perform the setup of sound, lighting and AV
equipment for a wide variety of events held within the various sports
facilities. Load and unload equipment from trucks and storage rooms, pack
and unpack roadcases, cable stages, place and stack speakers, build scaffolding,
place microphones, and any other associated tasks. No previous knowledge
is required, but some audio or lighting experience is recommended. Must
be detail oriented. Must have strong problem solving skills. Must be able
to lift 75 lb.. safely. E-mail resumes directly to Steve Evans. Work schedule:
Hours vary according to event scheduling but will include days, nights,
weekends, and some very late and early morning shifts.
Loader
Under supervision, assist in loading and unloading equipment from equipment
storage areas and large trucks. Assist in loading, unloading, packing
and unpacking of rolling road cases, speakers, truss and other technical
equipment. Must be able to lift 75 lb.. safely. Work schedule: Hours vary
according to event scheduling but will include days, nights, weekends,
and some very late and early morning shifts.
Grounds Maintenance
Under supervision, perform light maintenance of exterior grounds and landscaped
areas. Sweep walkways, sidewalks, stairs. Pick up trash as needed. Perform
designated, simple repairs to drip irrigation system and sprinkler heads.
Fertilize designated plants, hand water designated areas, move and introduce
amended topsoils. Load and unload materials. Occasionally trim shrubs,
install replacement plants. Clean and maintain hand tools. Must be able
to move (not carry) 50 lb.. Will be trained in the proper use of all equipment,
but should be familiar with basic landscaping tools. Must be able to follow
safety requirements. Must be self motivating worker. E-mail resumes directly

as needed. 19 hours/week maximum.
Set-Up Staff
Perform room and facility set-ups according to diagrams/written instructions.
Arrange furniture and equipment in conference rooms. Set-up for concerts,
special events and Intercollegiate Athletics games. Set-up sports and
sound equipment for basketball, soccer, softball and volleyball, as well
as set-up staging and bleachers for concerts and special events held in
RIMAC Arena and other Sports Facilities. Other duties as needed. Must
be able to accommodate the changing requirements of events by working
until tasks are completed, which may extend beyond scheduled work hours
and late into evening/early morning. Must be able to move and lift 50
lb.. Will be trained in the proper use of all necessary equipment. Must
be able to follow safety requirements. MUST BE WILLING TO WORK EVENINGS,
WEEKENDS, QUARTER BREAKS, HOLIDAYS. Work schedule: 14-18 hrs/wk, flexible
shifts during Mon-Sun.
Event Assistant/Usher
Assist with special events such as concerts, lectures, dances, etc. Duties
will include ushering, providing general information, crowd control, event
security, light setup and cleanup, and some light ticket taking duties.
Must be dependable, punctual, friendly, diplomatic, and even-tempered.
Work schedule: Sporadic/variable work schedule based on the scheduling
of events. Mostly night and weekend hours with some VERY LATE nights.
Pool/Spa/Grounds Maintenance
Duties will primarily be general pool and spa maint: vacuum, sweep and
brush pool and spa, hose decks, and empty trash cans. May also perform
general landscape maint: mow, edge, trim, weed and cultivate lawns and
planting beds. Perform pool and spa water chemistry tests. Other duties
as needed. Will be trained in the proper use of all equipment, but should
be familiar with basic pool maintenance and landscaping tools (power lawnmower,
edger, weed eater and blower.) Must be able to follow safety requirements.
Must be self motivating. Must be able to swim, enough to save own life.
Work schedule: 8-19 hours/week, with most hours between 6am-12noon.
Computer Systems Assistant
Assist in marketing the department's programs and services through visual
media and occasional in-person presentations. Assist in web design and
programming for department web site using FrontPage, Netscape Editor and
HTML. Update web pages as needed (monthly or quarterly) to ensure consistency
and that current data are dispalyed. Provide support for RIMAC Kiosk with
reference to paper postings, informational browser, PowerPoint presentations,
and other marketing media. Assist in any other marketing and promotional
events as requested. Must be creative and have a flair for a good visual
presentation. Must have knowledge and experience with HTML programming,
communications software (FTP, email), and Microsoft Word and Excel. Prefer
familiarity with use of webpage design software (FrontPage, Netscape Editor,
etc.), Microsoft NT operating system and Internet Information Server,
general knowledge of database information and processes. Work schedule:
15 hours/week during Mon-Fri 8am-4:30pm.
Office Assistant
Perform general clerical and recption duties, to include answering phones,
assisting walk-in traffic, photocopying, faxing, sorting and distributing
mail and forms, and typing forms and correspondence. Perform routing data
entry. Other duties are needed. Must have good interpersonal skills to
interact and communicate effectively with all levels of campus community
as well as off-campus clients. Must be able to memorize, retain and dispense
a wide variety of information. Accuracy in job performance required. Must
have prior experience with standard office equipment (multi-line telephone,
copier, fax, typewriter/computer, etc), and knowledge of basic PC software.
Work schedule: 15 hours/week during Mon-Fri 8am-4:30p.
Field Monitor
Act as facility representative and ensure enforcement of Sports Facilities policies; advise department and police of potential problems. Perform frequent rounds of the outdoor sports facilities (playing fields and outdoor courts). Open/secure facilities. Respond to emergencies, accidents and injuries. Perform safety and equipment inspections. Set up equipment for events. Activate/shut off field lights. Be aware of and able to apply custodial standards and maintenance practices. Complete daily reports on all activities. Must have prior experience working in leadership capacity in sports facility or organized sports activities. Must be able to move (not lift) 50 lbs. Must be able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing, and have excellent interpersonal skills. Must be able to enforce department’s rules and policies, even to friends. MUST HAVE CPR AND FIRST AID CERTIFICATIONS AND VALID DRIVER’S LICENSE.
RIMAC Facility Supervisor
Meet with department staff about each day’s events. Act as facility representative to ensure knowledge of and compliance with department policies by all users; advise dept and police of potential problems; act as liaison with contracted services on items needing timely follow-up. Open/secure facilities according to procedures. Respond to building emergencies, initiate evacuations, respond to patron and employee accidents and injuries. Perform safety inspections according to checklist. Assist in set-up of events/programs/meetings. Activate/shut off field lights and building air handlers. Be aware of and able to apply custodial standards and maintenance practices. Inspect and test designated AV equipment. Complete daily reports on all duties. Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Must be able to move (not lift) 50 lbs. Must be able to enforce department’s rules and policies, even to friends. Must have strong familiarity with UCSD campus, facilities and events, knowledge of set-up standards/practices for a wide variety of sports and equipment, and knowledge of basic custodial/maintenance standards and practices. MUST HAVE CURRENT CPR AND FIRST AID CERTIFICATIONS.

Facilities Crew Member
Perform any of a variety of duties needed to assist in getting the sports facilities and venues ready for customer use: Perform room and facility set-ups and tear-downs; Arrange furniture and equipment; Set up sports and sound equipment; Set up staging and bleachers; Complete all field lining requests; Sweep and squeegee tennis courts; Perform any other duties as needed. Must be able to accommodate the changing requirements of events by working until tasks are completed, which may extend beyond scheduled work hours and late into the evening/early morning. Must be able to move and lift 50 lbs. Must be familiar with metric and US standard measurements. Will be trained in the proper use of all necessary equipment, but familiarity with and ability to use various power tools is a plus. Must follow all safety requirements. MUST be willing to work evenings, weekends, quarter breaks, holidays, as needed.
