Multipurpose Fields

UC San Diego has four multipurpose fields. Under each field heading below you'll find the size of the playing area, as well as a listing of sports and how many playing fields can be lined up onto the playing surface.

North Campus Recreation Field (RIMAC Field)

  • 330 yards x 170 yards, approx. 12 acres
  • 3,000 capacity for concerts
  • Santa Ana grass
  • 5 full-sized soccer fields
  • 6 softball fields
  • Cement bleacher seating for 800
  • Regulation size softball field with portable fence, batting cage, and bullpen mound with bleacher seating for approx. 200
  • Home to UC San Diego's men's and women's soccer teams, women's softball, and the annual AS Sungod Festival field concert

Warren Field

  • 110 x 220 yards
  • 10,000 capacity for concerts
  • Soccer (3)
  • Flag football (3)
  • Lacrosse (2)
  • Rugby (1)
  • Electricity and water located next to restroom facility
  • Restroom facilities

Muir Field

  • 100 x 125 yards (5.55 acres)
  • Soccer (1)
  • Flag football (1)
  • Softball (2)
  • Lighted
  • Electrical hook-ups available

Sports Deck

  • Artificial turf for archery
  • Soccer (1) – max. soccer 130 yards x 65 yards
  • Lacrosse (1)
  • Archery range (10 firing stations)
  • No permanent restrooms, but one portable ADA unit is located at southeast entrance

Marshall Field

  • 80 x 120 yards (2.28 acres)
  • Flag football (1)
  • Soccer (1) with a small perimeter
  • Ultimate Frisbee (1)
  • Rugby (1)

Note: Marshall Field requires low-noise activities until 4:30PM on non-academic holiday weekdays, as it is located near offices and classrooms.
